The Green Cube project started a few years ago as an international strategic partnership of IN2 Group with Tich Consulting-ASISA from Spain to implement information systems in hospitals around the world. Currently, active projects are in Azerbaijan and Vietnam.
We asked Nikola, our colleague, to share his experience from Azerbaijan, he was there for a month and participated in the opening of the hospital.
Nikola graduated from the Faculty of Economics – Department of Marketing, studied and worked in the PIO Fund (7 years) in the Financial Sector. Read a short interview how he came to work in IN2 as a software engineer and got his first project to implement an information system for a hospital in Azerbaijan.
How did you start working in IN2?
In 2016, I decided to devote myself fully to learn information technology and to make a connection with a business experience that I have gained so far and new IT knowledge. I joined the IT community in Belgrade and learned about the IT re-training contest organized by the Government of Serbia. I applied and after the selection process in the competition of several thousand candidates, I managed to rank high and attend the program at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences where I had excellent cooperation with all professors and associates.
After the newly acquired knowledge, completed specialization and Oracle certification in cooperation with FON, a one-month practice in IN2 was organized, after which I started officially working in the company.
Could you imagine that your first project in IN2 would be an implementation of the health information system in Azerbaijan?
I had some ideas during practice what kind of projects I could expect, but definitely, I was not so imaginative that I put Azerbaijan as my first destination and that I will implement hospital-information system.
What exactly does this application represent?
The Green Cube application is more than just keeping an electronic medical record. It is an excellent tool for all hospital departments and helps in planning, managing and controlling medical staffs with patients and managers in analyzing institution performance. The application has the ability to integrate with other hospitals for a unified view of the results and reports in real-time and therefore represents a tool that experts can rely on when making decisions. It’s possible to connect with other institutions and it owns a complete system for managing finances and inventories.

What was the biggest challenge for you?
Software scalability itself is high and it requires the knowledge of all medical and business processes in the hospital.
What is most interesting about this project?
An international environment and discussion with experts in finding the optimal solution for the institution and the patients themselves when implementing the software.
How was in Azerbaijan?
In a word, great. I got a lot of new acquaintances with people from around the world who work at the Bona Dea International Hospital. Despite the fact that the city Baku was built from the oil industry, it’s very clean, and in this century has experienced a boom in modern architecture. Preparations for the Formula 1 race are in progress, the taxi drivers really enjoyed it, and we attended the last day of the World Gymnastics Championship. I walked through the parks along the Caspian Sea and through the Old Town where we tasted their traditional cuisine (“kutab” is excellent). They are fostering their culture and tradition, and our stay coincided with the spring celebration and the great holiday of Novruz. I will be happy to visit Baku again.
