Constellation Software Inc. announced its wholly-owned division Vela Operating Group and its subsidiary Aquila Software have acquired IN2 Group, one of the leaders of the software industry in the region.

Constellation Software is a global group based in Toronto, Canada. It was founded in 1995. Through a combination of acquisitions and organic growth, it grew into a company with more than 13.000 employees in more than 200 companies on five continents. In its acquisitions it mostly aims at companies who have a potential or already are market leaders in software for different industries.

Mike Byrne, Chief Executive Officer of Aquila Software, commented: “The acquisition of IN2 provides a continued step in our commitment to the IT solutions within the region. We are excited about the quality of the people and the clients of IN2. What IN2 has accomplished over the past 25 years is tremendous and we hope to build upon their accomplishments within the region.”

Ante Mandić, Founder and Chairman of the Board of IN2, said: “IN2 is one of the first major Croatian software only companies. Our growth has contributed to the creation of IT market and trends in the industry, and we have made a mark with our solutions in private and public sectors in these 25 years. My wish is that IN2 becomes a truly global company in the coming years, and I believe our new owner and strategic partner, Constellation Inc., is the right choice for this new big phase in the company’s lifecycle. Finally, and just as important, clients in the Croatian market and in the region remain IN2’s focus.” Katarina Šiber Makar, a current member of the management board, has been named as the new president of the board of the IN2 Group.

“IN2 is one of the largest and most long-lived IT companies in the region. The company has an impressive base of satisfied clients and extraordinary employees. Such a success and potential are rare in any industry and would represent a challenge for almost anyone. My priority, as the new president of the management board, is for IN2 to continue to do business and grow with all the positive characteristics that our employees and our customers value. Our membership in the global CSI group will open up completely new, exciting development opportunities. In our further development, we want to continue to provide services and software solutions that will best meet the business needs and goals of our clients, and we want to be one of the key players in the digital transformation of the economy and of the public services,” Katarina Šiber Makar has said.
